  1. With this book you will be successful As a dietitian I love to review books about diet programs. This book will help you understand “pre-diabetes” and give you a way to reverse it. Most doctor’s advise at this point to is to eat less and exercise more. Ms. Scalpi’s book breaks it down to small easy steps. Very positive outlook on the whole process. I liked the fact that there were many options on how to tackle the pre-diabetes. So if you already eating less carbs you could learn more about the glycemic index, or fiber, or re-vamp your grocery list. The best part of the book was the recipe section. The recipes are categorized by food type. Breakfast items like pancakes are there (and you thought you could never have them again). Quick entree ides are plentiful as well as desserts! The recipes contain household ingredients and tell you all the nutrition facts. I will be recommending this book to all my pre-diabetic patients.

  2. Excellent Guide For Those Facing Pre-Diabetes This is a great book for anyone who has pre-diabetes or who is overweight and worried about their health. The book includes 200 recipes organized into thirteen sections including soups, meat, chicken and reduced carbohydrates and more. These recipes look delicious and my favorites include sweet potato pancakes, lentil soup with herbs and lemon and healthy onion rings. These recipes prove that you can eat well while improving your health.Exercise, of course, is included in this book. The author recommends a sensible approach of adding a daily walk to your routine and including activities you already enjoy like gardening. If you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the information in the book then start with the section “Your 10-Week Plan To Kick Pre-Diabetes”. This will help you incorporate small changes weekly to your routine in order to build on your success as you go along.
